As far as rationale or roadmap... I recall sometime around the (re)birth of Misty something along the lines of not defining the purpose of each fork because that can (and probably will) change along the way. Makes sense, even if it does keep us in suspense.

I remember Zap and Osada lived in the same repo and a choice had to be made at time of install. Zap was Zot6-only. Osada was the bridge between ActivityPub and Zot but lacked Nomadic Identity due to incompatibilities with AP. Osada stagnated because (I think) private groups couldn't be made to work properly over AP. Then there was a breakthrough on private groups + AP and Osada was revived. Then there was a breakthrough with Nomadic Identity + AP and so AP was activated in Zap and Osada was laid to rest again.

Now Osada is back alongside Zap, Misty, a respin of Redmatrix and whatever Roadhouse ends up being.

And yes, all branches have recent development activity. Why Osada? LOL. I suppose once we figure out its distinct function(s) or someone with explicit knowledge informs us, it shall remain a mystery.

If I wasn't intrigued before...

Personally, I'm quite enjoying my ride on the Zot train.
